Christmas Present and Dinner

One of the nicest moments of being in the Tuesdays With Dorie blog roll was our recent Secret Santa card exchange. It turned out that my Secret Santa lives all the way in Australia. Cakelaw's blog is Laws of the Kitchen. Cakelaw generously sent me a lovely and handy oven mitt for Christmas. It is greatly appreciated. Here's a picture of it, along with a ravioli lasagna.

Ravioli Lasagna is one of the easiest of hearty winter meals. Pick you favourite ravioli, a jar of marinara sauce and grated Parmesan and mozzarella. Cook the ravioli to just under tender. Put a layer of the marinara sauce in the bottom of an oven ready pan. Then layer in the ravioli. Cover with a layer of sauce and then sprinkle with both cheeses. Using a large bag of ravioli, I got three layers to this quickie lasagna. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the cheese is nicely melted.
