TWD - All-American, All-Delicious Apple Pie

 The name says it all.  This is the classic American apple pie.  It's delicious, it's perfect.  No variations necessary.  (But knowing the creative Dorie bakers, I can't wait to see what people do with this recipe.)
 Does anyone else find that there's always extra pastry dough?  In this case, just enough for another little pie.

  15. Your pie looks wonderful, the baby pie is adorable. I just recently started making Dorie's fabulous pie dough and the recipe does yield a lot of dough.

  16. Oh, that looks so comforting and delicious! I have always wanted a pie plate like the glass one you have in the first photo, they just remind me of my grandmother's, so I always smile when I see ones like that.

  19. Those look delicious! I usually cut shapes out of the extra dough, sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar, and bake them like cookies.
